حَدَّثَنِي قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ مَاتَ وَهُوَ بَرِيءٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ الْكِبْرِ وَالْغُلُولِ وَالدَّيْنِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَوَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَزَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Qutaibah bin Sa'id] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Awanah] dari [Qatadah] dari [Salim bin Abul Ja'd] dari [Tsauban] ia berkata, "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Barangsiapa meninggal dalam keadaan terbebas dari tiga hal; sombong, mencuri harta ghanimah dan hutang, maka ia akan masuk surga." Dalam bab ini ada hadits serupa dari Abu Hurairah dan Zaid bin Khalid Al Juhani.

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
