حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَكَانَ الْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ يَتَخَتَّمَانِ فِي يَسَارِهِمَاهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Qutaibah] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hatim bin Isma'il] dari [Ja'far bin Muhammad] dari [Bapaknya] ia berkata, "? [Hasan] dan [Husain] biasa memakai cincin pada tangan kirinya." Ini adalah hadits hasan shahih."

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
