حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَقَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ الصَّاغَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ بَاتَ وَفِي يَدِهِ رِيحُ غَمَرٍ فَأَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ فَلَا يَلُومَنَّ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ الْأَعْمَشِ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Ishaq Al Baghdadi Ash Shaghani], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Ja'far Al Mada`ini], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Manshur bin Abul Aswad] dari [Al A'masy] dari [Abu Shalih] dari [Abu Hurairah] ia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Siapa yang bermalam sementara di tangannya masih terdapat bau lemak daging, sehingga ia tertimpa sesuatu, maka janganlah ia mencela siapa pun kecuali dirinya sendiri." Abu Isa berkata; Ini adalah hadits hasan gharib, kami tidak mengetahuinya dari hadits Al A'masy kecuali dari jalur ini.

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
