حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأَزْدِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَابِقٍ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ الْمُؤْمِنُ بِالطَّعَّانِ وَلَا اللَّعَّانِ وَلَا الْفَاحِشِ وَلَا الْبَذِيءِقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Yahya Al Azdi Al Bashari], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Sabiq] dari [Isra`il] dari [Al A'masy] dari [Ibrahim] dari [Alqamah] dari [Abdullah] ia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Tidaklah termasuk hamba yang mukmin, yaitu mereka yang selalu mengungkap aib, melaknat, berperangai buruk dan suka menyakiti." Abu Isa berkata; Ini adalah hadits hasan shahih gharib. Dan telah diriwayatkan pula dari Abdullah selain jalur ini.

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
