حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍأَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَالَ مَنْ طَالَ عُمُرُهُ وَحَسُنَ عَمَلُهُوَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَجَابِرٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Kuraib] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zaid bin Hubab] dari [Mu'awiyah bin Shalih] dari ['Amru bin Qais] dari ['Abdullah bin Busr], seorang badui bertanya: Wahai Rasulullah, siapa orang terbaik itu? Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alahi wa Salam menjawab: "Orang yang panjang umurnya dan baik amalnya." Dalam hal ini ada hadits serupa dari Abu Hurairah dan Jabir. Berkata Abu Isa: Hadits ini hasan gharib melalui jalur sanad ini.

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
