حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَهَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ طَرِيقًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Mahmud bin Ghailan] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Usamah] dari [Al A'masy] dari [Abu Shalih] dari [Abu Hurairah] dia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Barangsiapa berjalan di suatu jalan untuk mencari ilmu, niscaya Allah akan memudahkan baginya jalan ke surga." Abu Isa berkata; 'Ini adalah hadits hasan.'

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
