حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا شَريكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَشْعَرُ كَلِمَةٍ تَكَلَّمَتْ بِهَا الْعَرَبُ كَلِمَةُ لَبِيدٍ أَلَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلَا اللَّهَ بَاطِلُقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ali bin Hujr] telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Syarik] dari [Abdul Malik bin 'Umair] dari [Abu Salamah] dari [Abu Hurairah] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Kalimat syair terbaik yang diucapkan bangsa Arab adalah kata-kata Labid, yaitu; "Ingat, segala sesuatu selain Allah adalah batil." Abu Isa berkata; Hadits ini hasan shahih. [Ats Tsauri] dan lainnya meriwayatkan dari [Abdul Malik bin 'Umair].

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
