حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ عَنْ جُنَيْدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِجَهَنَّمَ سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَابٍ بَابٌ مِنْهَا لِمَنْ سَلَّ السَّيْفَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي أَوْ قَالَ عَلَى أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdu bin Humaid] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Utsman bin Umar] dari [Malik bin Mighwal] dari [Junaid] dari [Ibnu Umar] dari Nabi Shallallahu 'alaihi wa Salam beliau bersabda: "Neraka Jahannam itu mempunyai tujuh pintu salah satu (pintu) nya diperuntukkan bagi orang yang menghunus pedang kepada umatku (atau beliau mengatakan) kepada umat Muhammad." Abu Isa berkata: Hadits ini gharib, kami hanya mengetahuinya dari hadits Malik bin Mighwal.

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
