حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُأَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ شَرَائِعَ الْإِسْلَامِ قَدْ كَثُرَتْ عَلَيَّ فَأَخْبِرْنِي بِشَيْءٍ أَتَشَبَّثُ بِهِ قَالَ لَا يَزَالُ لِسَانُكَ رَطْبًا مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Kuraib] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zaid bin Hubab] dari [Mu'awiyah bin Shalih] dari ['Amru bin Qais] dari [Abdullah Busr radliallahu 'anhu] bahwa seorang laki-laki berkata; wahai rasulullah, sesungguhnya syari'at-syari'at Islam telah banyak yang menjadi kewajibanku, maka beritahukan kepadaku sesuatu yang dapat aku jadikan sebagai pegangan! Beliau bersabda: "Hendaknya senantiasa lidahmu basah karena berdzikir kepada Allah." Abu Isa berkata; hadits ini adalah hadits hasan gharib dari sisi ini.

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
