حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ ذَكَرَ دَاوُدُ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ سَيِّدَا كُهُولِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ مَا خَلَا النَّبِيِّينَ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ لَا تُخْبِرْهُمَا يَا عَلِيُّ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ya'qub bin Ibrahim Ad Dauraqi] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan bin 'Uyainah] dia berkata; [Daud] menyebutkan dari [As Sya'bi] dari [Al Harits] dari [Ali] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam beliau bersabda: "Abu Bakar dan Umar adalah penghulu penduduk syurga yang berusia dewasa dari orang pertama hingga yang terakhir selain para Nabi dan para Rasul, jangan beritahu kepada keduanya wahai Ali."

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
