حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلَّالُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْتِرُوا قَبْلَ أَنْ تُصْبِحُوا
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Al Hasan bin Ali Al Khallal] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdurrazaq] telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Ma'mar] dari [Yahya bin Abu Katsir] dari [Abu Nadlrah] dari [Abu Sa'id Al Khudri] dia berkata, Rasulullah Shallahu 'alaihi wa sallam bersabda: "Kerjakanlah shalat witir sebelum kalian shalat subuh."

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
