حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الْمَصَاحِفِيُّ الْبَلْخِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِي قُرَّةَ الْأَسَدِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَإِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ مَوْقُوفٌ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَا يَصْعَدُ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ حَتَّى تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى نَبِيِّكَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Abu Daud Sulaiman bin Salmin Al Mashahifi Al Balkhi] telah mengabarkan kepada kami [An Nadlr bin Syumail] dari [Abu Qurrah Al Asadi] dari [Sa'id bin Al Musayyib] dari [Umar bin Al Khaththab] dia berkata, sesungguhnya do'a akan terhenti di antara bumi dan langit, ia tidak akan naik sehingga kamu bershalawat kepada Nabimu Shalallahu 'alaihi wa salam.

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
