حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْأَجْلَحِ عَنْ إِسْمَعِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَصَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِنًى الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ وَالْفَجْرَ ثُمَّ غَدَا إِلَى عَرَفَاتٍقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَإِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَدْ تَكَلَّمُوا فِيهِ مِنْ قِبَلِ حِفْظِهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Sa'id Al Asyaj] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdullah bin Al Ajlah] [Isma'il bin Muslim] dari ['Atha`] dari [Ibnu Abbas] berkata; "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersama kami di Mina, shalat zhuhur, ashar, maghrib, Isya dan shubuh kemudian berangkat ke Arafah." Abu 'Isa berkata; "Isma'il bin Muslim, diperbincangkannya dari segi hapalannya oleh orang-orang."

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
