حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُعَاذِ بْنِ خُلَيْفٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ قَالَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْتُ كَيْفَ رَأَيْتَهُ قَالَ كَانَ أَبْيَضَ مَلِيحًا إِذَا مَشَى كَأَنَّمَا يَهْوِي فِي صَبُوبٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Husain bin Mu'adz bin Khalif] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdul A'la] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sa'id Al Jurairi] dari [Abu Ath Thufail] ia berkata, "Aku pernah melihat Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam." Aku lalu bertanya, "Bagaimana engkau melihat Rasulullah?" Ia menjawab, "Beliau putih seperti garam, jika berjalan seakan di atas angin (cepat)."

Imam Abu Dawud compiled Sunan Abu Dawud from approximately 500,000 hadiths, selecting 5,274. His collection is particularly focused on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and legal rulings. He personally wrote to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal informing him of the work, and received his approval.
Abu Dawud said: 'I wrote 500,000 hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ, then selected this book from them.' He focused especially on rulings related to halal and haram.
