حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذَا ابْنُ آدَمَ وَهَذَا أَجَلُهُ عِنْدَ قَفَاهُ وَبَسَطَ يَدَهُ أَمَامَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَثَمَّ أَمَلُهُ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ishaq bin Manshur] telah menceritakan kepada kami [An Nadlr bin Syumail] telah memberitakan kepada kami [Hammad bin Salamah] dari ['Ubaidillah bin Abu Bakar] dia berkata; saya mendengar [Anas bin Malik] berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Ini adalah anak Adam dan ini adalah ajalnya terletak di tengkuknya." Sambil merentangkan tangan beliau di hadapannya sambil bersabda: "Dan kemudian (ini) adalah cita-citanya."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
