حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَعَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ لِحَاجَتِهِ فَاتَّبَعَهُ الْمُغِيرَةُ بِإِدَاوَةٍ فِيهَا مَاءٌ فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِ حِينَ فَرَغَ مِنْ حَاجَتِهِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Amru bin Khalid Al Harrani] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Al Laits] dari [Yahya bin Sa'id] dari [Sa'd bin Ibrahim] dari [Nafi' bin Jubair] dari ['Urwah bin Al Mughirah bin Syu'bah] dari bapaknya, [Al Mughirah bin Syu'bah] dari Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, bahwa beliau keluar untuk buang hajat, lalu Al Mughirah mengikutinya dengan membawa bejana berisi air. Selesai buang hajat, Al Mughirah menuangkan air kepada beliau hingga beliau pun berwudlu dan mengusap sepasang sepatunya."

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
