حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَرَأَيْتُنِي أَنَا وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَتَمَاشَى فَأَتَى سُبَاطَةَ قَوْمٍ خَلْفَ حَائِطٍ فَقَامَ كَمَا يَقُومُ أَحَدُكُمْ فَبَالَ فَانْتَبَذْتُ مِنْهُ فَأَشَارَ إِلَيَّ فَجِئْتُهُ فَقُمْتُ عِنْدَ عَقِبِهِ حَتَّى فَرَغَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Utsman bin Abu Syaibah] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Jarir] dari [Manshur] dari [Abu Wa'il] dari [Hudzaifah] berkata, "Aku berjalan-jalan bersama Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau lalu mendatangi tempat pembuangan sampah suatu kaum di balik tembok dan kencing sambil berdiri sebagaimana kalian berdiri. Aku lalu menjauh dari beliau, namun beliau memberi isyarat kepadaku agar mendekat, maka aku pun mendekat dan berdiri di belakangnya hingga beliau selesai."

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
