حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَكَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَزَعٌ فَرَكِبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَسًا لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ فَقَالَ مَا رَأَيْنَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ وَإِنْ وَجَدْنَاهُ لَبَحْرًا
English Translation
Telah bercerita kepada kami [Musaddadd] telah bercerita kepada kami [Yahya] dari [Syu'bah] telah bercerita kepadaku [Qatadah] dari [Anas bin Malik radliallahu 'anhu] berkata; Pernah terjadi gempa bumi di Madinah lalu Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengendarai seekor kuda milik Abu Thalhah kemudian berkata: "Kami tidak melihat sesuatu apapun. Yang kami dapati kuda ini sangat cepat".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
