حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْأَعْمَشُ ح حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَلَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِنِّي خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَزَادَ مُسَدَّدٌ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى
English Translation
Telah bercerita kepada kami [Musaddad] telah bercerita kepada kami [Yahya] dari [Sufyan] berkata telah bercerita kepadaku [Al A'masy]. Dan diriwayatkan pula, telah bercerita kepada kami [Abu Nu'aim] telah bercerita kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Al A'masy] dari [Abu Wa'il] dari ['Abdullah radliallahu 'anhu] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Jangan sekali-kali seseorang dari kalian berkata bahwa aku (Muhammad shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) lebih baik dari Nabi Yunus 'alaihi salam". Musaddad menambahkan; "Yunus bin Matta".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
