حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَلَمَّا نَزَلَتْ{ ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عِنْدَ رَبِّكُمْ تَخْتَصِمُونَ }قَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتُكَرَّرُ عَلَيْنَا الْخُصُومَةُ بَعْدَ الَّذِي كَانَ بَيْنَنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْأَمْرَ إِذًا لَشَدِيدٌقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Abi Umar] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Muhammad bin Amru bin Alqamah] dari [Yahya bin Abdurrahman bin Hathib] dari [Abdullah bin Az Zubair] dari [ayahnya] berkata: Saat turun (ayat): "Kemudian kamu pada hari kiamat akan berbantah-bantah di hadapan Rabbmu." (Az Zumar: 31) Az Zubair berkata: Wahai Rasulullah, apakah berbantah-bantahan terulang lagi setelah terjadi diantara kami di dunia? Beliau menjawab: "Ya." Ia berkata: Kalau begitu masalahnya sangat berat. Abu Isa berkata: Hadits ini hasan shahih.

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
