حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ أَوْ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْغُدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَإِذَا أُنَاسٌ مِنْ الْيَهُودِ يُعَظِّمُونَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَيَصُومُونَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِصَوْمِهِ فَأَمَرَ بِصَوْمِهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepadaku [Ahmad atau Muhammad bin 'Ubaidullah Al Ghudani] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hammad bin Usamah] telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Abu Al 'Umais] dari [Qais bin Muslim] dari [Thariq bin Syihab] dari [Abu Musa] radliallahu 'anhu ia berkata; "Ketika Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam tiba di Madinah, orang-orang Yahudi mengagungkan hari 'Aasyura (tanggal sepuluh Muharam) dengan berpuasa, maka Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Kita lebih berhak untuk berpuasa." Lantas beliau memerintahkan untuk melaksanakan puasa hari 'Aasyura."

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
