حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ السَّلُولِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ الْبَرَاءَوَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ قَالَ أَشَهِدَ عَلِيٌّ بَدْرًا قَالَ بَارَزَ وَظَاهَرَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepadaku [Ahmad bin Sa'id Abu 'Abdullah] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ishaq bin Manshur As-Saluliy] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibrahim bin Yusuf] dari [bapaknya] dari [Abu Ishaq]; Ada seseorang yang bertanya kepada [Al Bara'] dan aku mendengarnya. Al Bara' berkata; "Aku menyaksikan 'Ali pada perang Badar melakukan perang tanding dan dia menang".

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
