حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ قَالَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِطَعَامٍ وَمَعَهُ رَبِيبُهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَ سَمِّ اللَّهَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdullah bin Yusuf] Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Malik] dari [Wahb bin Kaisan Abu Nu'aim] ia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam pernah diberi makanan, dan saat itu beliau bersama anak tirinya Umar bin Abu Salamah, maka beliau pun bersabda: "Bacalah Basmalah dan ambillah makanan yang ada didekatmu."

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
