حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُإِنَّ خَيَّاطًا دَعَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِطَعَامٍ صَنَعَهُ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَذَهَبْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَتَتَبَّعُ الدُّبَّاءَ مِنْ حَوَالَيْ الْقَصْعَةِقَالَ فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أُحِبُّ الدُّبَّاءَ مِنْ يَوْمِئِذٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Qutaibah] dari [Malik] dari [Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abu Thalhah] bahwa ia mendengar [Anas bin Malik] berkata; Sesungguhnya Khayyath mengundang Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam untuk menyantap makanan yang dibuatnya. Anas berkata; Maka aku pun pergi bersama Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, lalu aku melihat beliau mencari-cari labu dari sekitar piring. Maka sejak hari itu, aku pun mulai menyukai labu.

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
