حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُأَنَّهُ مَرَّ بِقَوْمٍ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ شَاةٌ مَصْلِيَّةٌ فَدَعَوْهُ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَ وَقَالَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا وَلَمْ يَشْبَعْ مِنْ خُبْزِ الشَّعِيرِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepadaku [Ishaq bin Ibrahim] Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Rauh bin Ubadah] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Abu Dzi`b] dari [Sa'id Al Maqburi] dari [Abu Hurairah] radliallahu 'anhu, bahwa suatu ketika ia melewati suatu kaum yang dihadapan mereka terdapat seekor kambing yang telah terpanggang. Lalu mereka pun mengundangnya, namun ia enggan untuk memakan daging kambing tersebut. Dan Abu Hurairah pun berkata, "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam meninggalkan dunia ini, namun beliau belum pernah kenyang memakan roti yang terbuat dari gandum lembut."

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
