حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَمَا أَكَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى خِوَانٍ وَلَا فِي سُكْرُجَةٍ وَلَا خُبِزَ لَهُ مُرَقَّقٌقُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ عَلَامَ يَأْكُلُونَ قَالَ عَلَى السُّفَرِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdullah bin Abul Aswad] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Mu'adz] Telah menceritakan kepadaku [bapakku] dari [Yunus] dari [Qatadah] dari [Anas bin Malik] ia berkata; Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam tidak pernah makan di atas meja dan tidak pula dengan piring. Dan beliau tidak pernah dibuatkan roti empuk." Aku bertanya kepada Qatadah, "Lalu di atas hamparan apa beliau makan?" ia menjawab, "Di atas daun kurma."

Imam al-Bukhari dedicated 16 years to compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, selecting approximately 7,275 hadiths from over 600,000 narrations he examined. His strict conditions for accepting a hadith — requiring narrator continuity, reliable memory, and confirmed meeting between narrators — make it the most rigorously authenticated hadith collection in Islamic scholarship.
Imam al-Bukhari would perform ghusl and pray two rak'ahs before recording each hadith. Sahih al-Bukhari is universally regarded as the most authentic book after the Quran.
