أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ كَهْمَسًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ أَحْسَنَ مَا غَيَّرْتُمْ بِهِ الشَّيْبَ الْحِنَّاءُ وَالْكَتَمُ
English Translation
Telah mengkhabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Abdul A'la], dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Al Mu'tamir], ia berkata; "Saya mendengar [Kahmas] menceritakan dari [Abdullah bin Buraidah] bahwa telah sampai kepadanya kabar bahwa Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Sesungguhnya sebaik-baik apa yang kalian gunakan untuk mengubah uban adalah inai dan katam."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
