حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ح و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي فَزَارَةَ الْعَبْسِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ مَوْلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ لَيْلَةَ الْجِنِّ عِنْدَكَ طَهُورٌ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا شَيْءٌ مِنْ نَبِيذٍ فِي إِدَاوَةٍ قَالَ تَمْرَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ وَمَاءٌ طَهُورٌ فَتَوَضَّأَ هَذَا حَدِيثُ وَكِيعٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah] dan [Ali bin Muhammad] keduanya berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Waki'] dari [Bapaknya]. Dan menurut jalur yang lain; Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Yahya] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdurrazzaq] dari [Sufyan] dari [Abu Fazarah Al 'Absi] dari [Abu Zaid] mantan budak Amru bin Huraist, dari [Abdullah bin Mas'ud] bahwa Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam pada suatu malam yang gelap gulita bertanya kepadanya: "Apakah kamu mempunyai air untuk bersuci?" ia menjawab; "Tidak, kecuali sedikit nabidz (air arak) yang ada di kantong kulit." Beliau bersabda: "Kurma itu baik dan air itu suci." Lalu beliau pun berwudlu. Ini merupakan hadits Waki'.

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
