حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ دَرَّاجًا حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍعَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ يَتَوَاضَعُ لِلَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ دَرَجَةً يَرْفَعُهُ اللَّهُ بِهِ دَرَجَةً وَمَنْ يَتَكَبَّرُ عَلَى اللَّهِ دَرَجَةً يَضَعُهُ اللَّهُ بِهِ دَرَجَةً حَتَّى يَجْعَلَهُ فِي أَسْفَلِ السَّافِلِينَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Harmalah bin Yahya] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Wahb] telah mengabarkan kepadaku ['Amru bin Al Harits] bahwa [Darrajan] telah menceritakan kepadanya dari [Abu Al Haitsam] dari [Abu Sa'id] dari Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Barangsiapa tawadlu' (bersikap rendah diri) kepada Allah Subhanah satu derajat, niscaya Allah akan mengangkatnya satu derajat, dan barangsiapa bersikap sombong kepada Allah satu derajat, maka Allah akan merendahkan satu derajat hingga derajat yang paling hina."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
