حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هَمَّامٍ الدَّلَّالُ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ مَسْجِدَ الطَّائِفِ حَيْثُ كَانَ طَاغِيَتُهُمْ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Yahya] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Hammam Ad Dallal] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sa'id bin As Sa`ib] dari [Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Iyadl] dari [Utsman bin Abul 'Ash] berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam memerintahkan kepadanya agar memposisikan (menghormati) masjid Tha`if sebagaimana orang-orang memposisikan sesembahan mereka."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
