و حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ أَنْصِتْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ فَقَدْ لَغِيتَقَالَ أَبُو الزِّنَادِ هِيَ لُغَةُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ
English Translation
Dan Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Abu Umar] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Abu Zinad] dari [Al A'raj] dari [Abu Hurairah] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Apabila kamu mengatakan kepada temanmu pada hari Jum'at, 'Diamlah, ' padahal Imam sedang berkhutbah, maka sungguh kamu telah berbuat kesia-siaan." Abu Zinad berkata; Kata, 'FAQAD LAGHIITA' adalah menurut bahasanya Abu Hurairah, namun yang benar adalah, 'FAQAD LAGHAUTA.'

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
