حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ مَا يَقْتُلُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنْ الدَّوَابِّفَقَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي إِحْدَى نِسْوَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ أَمَرَ أَوْ أُمِرَ أَنْ يَقْتُلَ الْفَأْرَةَ وَالْعَقْرَبَ وَالْحِدَأَةَ وَالْكَلْبَ الْعَقُورَ وَالْغُرَابَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ahmad bin Yunus] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zuhair] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zaid bin Jubair] bahwa seorang laki-laki bertanya kepada [Ibnu Umar] tentang binatang apa saja yang boleh dibunuh. Maka ia pun menjawab; "Salah seorang dari isteri-isteri Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam telah mengabarkan kepadaku bahwa beliau memerintahkan -atau- telah diperintahkan untuk membunuh tikus, kalajengking, elang, anjing gila dan burung gagak."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
