حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ ابْنَ عُمَرَ مَا يَقْتُلُ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ الدَّوَابِّ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌقَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي إِحْدَى نِسْوَةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِقَتْلِ الْكَلْبِ الْعَقُورِ وَالْفَأْرَةِ وَالْعَقْرَبِ وَالْحُدَيَّا وَالْغُرَابِ وَالْحَيَّةِ قَالَ وَفِي الصَّلَاةِ أَيْضًا
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syaiban bin Farrukh] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Awanah] dari [Zaid bin Jubair] ia berkat; Seorang laki-laki bertanya kepada [Ibnu Umar], "Binatang apa saja yang boleh dibunuh oleh seseorang yang muhrim (melakukan Ihram)?" Ibnu Umar menjawabl; "Salah seorang dari isteri-isteri Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam telah menceritakan kepadaku, bahwa beliau telah memerintahkan untuk membunuh anjing gila, tikus, kalajengking, elang, burung gagak dan ular." Ibnu Umar melanjutkan; (Diperintahkan juga untuk membunuhnya) di dalam shalat.

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
