و حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَخْزُومِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍعَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْعَائِدُ فِي هِبَتِهِ كَالْكَلْبِ يَقِيءُ ثُمَّ يَعُودُ فِي قَيْئِهِ
English Translation
dan telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ishaq bin Ibrahim] telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Al Mahzumi] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Wuhaib] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdullah bin Thawus] dari [Ayahnya] dari [Ibnu Abbas] dari Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Orang yang menarik kembali pemberiannya, seperti seekor anjing yang muntah dan memakan kembali muntahannya."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
