أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْمَكِّيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ زَيْدِ ابْنِ أَسْلَمَ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءَ لِيُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ رِجَالٌ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ فَسَأَلْتُ صُهَيْبًا وَكَانَ مَعَهُ كَيْفَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا سُلِّمَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ كَانَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Manshur Al Makkiy] dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Zaid bin Aslam] dia berkata; [Ibnu 'Umar] berkata; "Nabi Shallallahu'alaihiwasallam masuk ke dalam masjid Quba untuk shalat di dalamnya, lalu ada beberapa orang yang mengucapkan salam kepada beliau. Aku lalu bertanya kepada [Shuhaib] -ia saat itu bersama Rasulullah Shallallahu'alaihiwasallam-, 'Bagaimana Rasulullah Shallallahu'alaihiwasallam berbuat tatkala ada yang memberi salam kepadanya? ' la menjawab, "Beliau Shallallahu'alaihiwasallam menjawab dengan isyarat tangannya."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
