أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍعَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ جَهَنَّمَ مَسِيرَةَ مِائَةِ عَامٍ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Mahmud bin Khalid] dari [Muhammad bin Syu'aib] dia berkata; telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Yahya bin Al Harits] dari [Al Qasim Abu 'Abdurrahman] bahwasanya ia menceritakan kepadanya dari ['Uqbah bin 'Amir] dari Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam beliau bersabda: "Barangsiapa yang berpuasa sehari dijalan Allah Azza wa Jalla maka Allah menjauhkan darinya neraka Jahannam sejauh perjalanan seratus tahun."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
