أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَقَصَّرْتُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمَرْوَةِ بِمِشْقَصِ أَعْرَابِيٍّ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Yahya bin Abdullah], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdur Razzaq], ia berkata; telah memberitakan kepada kami [Ma'mar] dari [Ibnu Thawus] dari [ayahnya] dari [Ibnu Abbas] dari [Mu'awiyah], ia berkata; saya telah memendekkan rambut Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam di atas Marwah dengan bagian anak panah badui yang tajam.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
