أَخْبَرَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَرَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ يُضْرَبُونَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اشْتَرَوْا الطَّعَامَ جُزَافًا أَنْ يَبِيعُوهُ حَتَّى يُؤْوُوهُ إِلَى رِحَالِهِمْ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Nashr bin Ali], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yazid] dari [Ma'mar] dari [Az Zuhri] dari [Salim] dari [ayahnya], ia berkata; saya melihat manusia pada zaman Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mendapatkan hukuman apabila mereka membeli makanan tidak diketahui kadarnya dan menjualnya kecuali mereka mengambilnya ada memindahkannya ke tempat tinggal mereka.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
