حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُخَابَرَةِ وَالثُّنْيَا إِلَّا أَنْ تُعْلَمَقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ziyad bin Ayyub Al Baghdadi], telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Abbad bin Al 'Awwam] ia berkata; Telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Sufyan bin Husain] dari [Yunus bin Ubaid] dari ['Atha`] dari [Jabir] bahwa Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam melarang muhaqalah, muzabanah, mukhabarah dan tsunya kecuali jika diketahui. Abu Isa berkata; Hadits ini hasan shahih gharib dari jalur ini dari hadits Yunus bin Ubaid dari 'Atha` dari Jabir.

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
