حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَنَحَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْحُدَيْبِيَةِ الْبَدَنَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ وَالْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَيْرِهِمْ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ وَأَحْمَدَ وَإِسْحَقَ و قَالَ إِسْحَقُ يُجْزِئُ أَيْضًا الْبَعِيرُ عَنْ عَشَرَةٍ وَاحْتَجَّ بِحَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Qutaibah] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Malik bin Anas] dari [Abu Az Zubair] dari [Jabir] ia berkata, "Kami pernah berkurban bersama Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam di Hudaibiyyah, yaitu satu ekor unta untuk tujuh orang dan satu ekor sapi untuk tujuh orang." Abu Isa berkata; "Hadits ini derajatnya hasan shahih. dan hadits ini menjadi pedoman amal oleh para ulama' dari kalangan sahabat Nabi Sallallahu 'alahi wa sallam dan selainnya. Dan ini adalah perkataan Sufyan Ats Tsauri, Ibnul Mubarak, Syafi'I, Ahmad dan Ishaq. Ishaq berkata; "Satu ekor unta juga cukup untuk sepuluh orang." Ia berpegangan dengan hadits Ibnu Abbas."

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
