حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الْعَطَّارُ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَلِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِي يُوَاطِئُ اسْمُهُ اسْمِيقَالَ عَاصِمٌ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ لَوْ لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا يَوْمٌ لَطَوَّلَ اللَّهُ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ حَتَّى يَلِيَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdul Jabbar bin Al Ala' bin Abdul Jabbar Al Athar] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan bin 'Uyainah] telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Ashim] dari [Zirr] dari [Abdullah] dari nabi Shallallahu 'alaihi wa Salam, beliau bersabda: "Akan berkuasa seseorang dari ahli baitku yang namanya sama dengan namaku. 'Ashim berkata: Abu Sholih telah mengabarkan kepada kami dari Abu Hurairah berkata: "Seandainya tidak akan tersisa dari dunia ini kecuali sehari niscaya Allah akan memanjangkan hari itu sehingga dia berkuasa." Abu Isa berkata: Hadits ini hasan shahih.

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
