حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَقِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ الصَّلَاةِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ طُولُ الْقُنُوتِقَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُبْشِيٍّ وَأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Abu Umar] berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan bin Uyainah] dari [Abu Az Zubair] dari [Jabir] ia berkata; "Pernah ditanyakan kepada Nabi, "Shalat bagaimanakan yang paling utama?" beliau menjawab: "Lama dalam berdiri." Ia berkata; "Dalam bab ini juga ada riwayat dari Abdullah bin Hubsyi dan Anas bin Malik dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam." Abu Isa berkata; "Hadits Jabir bin Abdullah derajatnya hasan shahih. Hadits ini telah diriwayatkan dari Jabir bin Abdullah dengan banyak jalur."

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
