حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَلِيعَ الْفَمِ أَشْكَلَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ مَنْهُوشَ الْعَقِبِقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ahmad bin Mani'] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Qathan] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syu'bah] dari [Simak bin Harb] dari [Jabir bin Samurah] dia berkata; Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam adalah sosok yang bibirnya tebal, kedua matanya berbentuk dan tumitnya halus." Abu Isa berkata; "Hadits ini adalah hadits hasan shahih."

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
