حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ سَمِعَ جَدَّهُ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ امْرَأً صَلَّى قَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ أَرْبَعًاقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ حَسَنٌ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yahya bin Musa] dan [Mahmud Al Gahilan] dan [Ahmad bin Ibrahim Ad Dauraqi] dan selainnya berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Dawud Ath Thayalisi] berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Muslim bin Mihran] mendengar [Kakeknya] dari [Ibnu Umar] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Semoga Allah merahmati orang yang shalat empat rakaat sebelum ashar." Abu Isa berkata; "Hadits ini derajatnya hasan gharib."

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
