حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ جَمِيعًا عَنْ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُابَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الثَّقَلِ أَوْ قَالَ فِي الضَّعَفَةِ مِنْ جَمْعٍ بِلَيْلٍ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yahya bin Yahya] dan [Qutaibah bin Sa'id] semuanya dari [Hammad] - [Yahya] berkata- telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Hammad bin Zaid] dari [Ubaidullah bin Abu Yazid] ia berkata, saya mendengar [Ibnu Abbas] berkata; "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengutusku membawa perbekalannya -atau ia mengatakan- bersama anggota keluarganya dari Jam' tepatnya pada malam hari."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
