أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُخْبِرُعَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى لَا يَصْبُغُونَ فَخَالِفُوهُمْ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Ishaq bin Ibrahim] ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Az Zuhri] dari [Abu Salamah] dan [Sulaiman bin Yasar] bahwa keduanya mendengar [Abu Hurairah] mengabarkan dari Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Sesungguhnya orang-orang Yahudi dan Nashara tidak mewarnai (rambut atau janggut), maka selisihilah mereka."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
